New York Rangers

The New York Rangers are the odd man out at this point in the season and need to make a run if they plan on going anywhere besides fishing after the regular season. This is a solid team, exceeding the expectations of all this season. Most considered this to be a team that ended near the bottom of the conference but has instead been over .500 posting a 31-29-9 record on the season.

The Rangers are the same position as the Bruins, being teams that win at a slightly higher rate on the road than they do at home. This is encouraging because it feels that they could never be counted out if they made a playoff series, yet their inability to put those games away at home is disappointing.

The Rangers have a very strong leader, one of the top players in the league so far this year, Marian Gaborik. Gaborik has been a strong scorer and assistman this year(36 goals 37 assists) and has the ability to take over the game and lead this team to victory.

Their goaltender, Henrik Lundqvist, has been a workhorse this year, already playing in 60 of the teams games. When he starts the team is very successful going 28-23-8.

This team needs Lundqvist to be in every night if they are going to put together a run to finish it and they need him to continue to put up the numbers he has all season (2.45 goals against average .919 save percentage).
