Calgary Flames visit Vancouver Canucks in Northwest division battle

The Calgary Flames will play against the Vancouver Canucks this weekend. These teams will be playing in Vancouver. While both of these teams have had solid seasons to this point, the Canucks have been the superior team. The Canucks are atop the conference with a 35-10-9 record this season.

The Canucks are solid in every aspect of the game it seems. They have the 2nd best offense in the NHL, averaging 3.4 goals a game, and they allow just 2.3 goals per game on defense. This is the 3rd best average in the league. They are also one of the best teams in terms of power play percentage and penalty kill percentage.

The Canucks are led by Daniel Sedin at Left Wing. He has 69 points on the season and has been a key facilitator for the Canucks on offense. The Flames will need to try to find a way to limit the impact that Sedin has on the game. This will force another player to stop up and make plays.

The Flames are pretty much a middle of the pack team in most statistical categories, but they seem to find a way to win games. Jarome Iginla is the main offensive force for the Flames. He is the leading scorer and has dished out the most assists of any player on his team. The Flames will need him to have a big game against the Canucks.

While the Flames do have a chance, the Canucks are definitely favored in this game.
