Pittsburgh Penguins, Boston Bruins clash Saturday
Saturday will showcase two of the best teams in the Eastern Conference and all of the NHL when the Pittsburgh Penguins travel to Boston to take on the Bruins. This game will be a rematch of Monday night’s game which saw the Bruins defeat the Penguins 4-2. The Bruins needed four third period goals in the last 3:23 of the game to seal the victory over the Penguins. After blowing a two goal lead of their own over the weekend, the Bruins surely needed that victory and hope to ride that momentum as long as they can. NHL betting lines odds have not yet published for this matchup.
The Pittsburgh Penguins on the other hand have been reeling as of late after their twelve game win streak came to an end last month. The Penguins have won only once in their last six games, and have really been missing their star center Sidney Crosby, who has been out with concussion like symptoms the last three games. In those three games without Crosby, Pittsburgh has only score three goals total. It is unsure when Crosby will be back in the lineup.
With Crosby sitting out for the Penguins, the Bruins are catching Pittsburgh at an opportune time. Leading the Montreal Canadiens by only two points in the Northeast Division, the Bruins are looking for any opportunity to distance themselves in the standings. Playing one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference without their star player will certainly help Boston’s chances of gaining two points from this game and increasing the lead they hold over Montreal.
