NHL rivals Vancouver Canucks, Chicago Blackhawks clash Friday

The Vancouver Canucks and the Chicago Blackhawks will square off this Friday in Chicago. These two teams are both looking like they are on the upswing as both have won back to back games as of Tuesday morning. The Blackhawks will have a tough game beforehand against the Blues, but they appear to be improving as the season goes on.

The Blackhawks are 13-11-2 on the season to this point. The Canucks are 12-7-3.

The Canucks have been one of the very best teams in the NHL this season. There is really not a single aspect of their game that is a weakness. The team is the best team all around regarding the power play. They have the highest conversion rating of any team on the Power Play at 25.3 percent. They also have a penalty kill percentage of 86.9. These things help this team win games on a nightly basis.

The Canucks have averaged 3.1 goals per game on offense (6th in the NHL) and have only allowed 2.6 goals per game on defense(8th in the NHL). Their offense could be even better against the Blackhawks, as Chicago has a relatively poor Penalty Kill percentage of 78.7 percent. Chicago will need to play smarter if they want to keep up with Vancouver.

The Blackhawks do have a solid offensive attack and they will need the offense to step up and score early against the Canucks. This is a winnable game, but Chicago will need to play at a high level to take out Vancouver.
