Chicago Blackhawks visit Calgary Flames in NHL action
The Chicago Blackhawks will take on the Calgary Flames this coming Friday.
Neither of these teams has experienced quite as good of a season as they’d have liked to. The Blackhawks have a 9-9-2 record to this point in the season. Meanwhile, the Calgary Flames have an even worse record of 7-9 and so far not in the preferred list of NHL betting.
Both teams have not only struggled to win games, but they have been outscored by their opponents on the season. The Blackhawks have scored 57 goals on the season while allowing 59. The Calgary Flames have scored 46 goals on the season while allowing 49. These teams both feel like they are better than this and you can expect them to turn things up as the season rolls on.
Neither of these teams has really been standing out to this point in the season. The biggest advantage that we will see in this game is the ability that the Blackhawks have to score on the Power Play. The Chicago Blackhawks have scored nearly in 26 percent of their opportunities to this point.
The problem with the Blackhawks is that they struggle against the power play. They have just the 22nd best Penalty Kill Percentage in the NHL.
The Flames will need to get things going on offense early on in this game. They have a defense that has really struggled and they will need to set the tone offensively in order to put their defense at ease. If it comes down to whether or not the Flames can stop the Blackhawks this will not be a good game for Calgary.
