NHL Preview: Detroit Red Wings at Dallas Stars

The Detroit Red Wings visit the Dallas Stars in a battle of Central division rivals Thursday night at the American Airlines Center.

Detroit is 2-0-1 so far this young NHL season while Dallas is 2-0-0.

Detroit is already struggling with injuries this season with forwards Justin Abdelkader (Day-to-Day, rib injury) and Kris Draper (Day-to-Day, groin injury), and defenseman Jonathan Ericsson (Day-to-Day, back spasms) and Brian Rafalski (Out Indefinitely, knee injury), all on the shelf.

For Dallas, forward Jamie Benn is listed as day-to-day with a head injury.

The Stars have had the upper hand in recent meetings, going 7-3-0-0 in the past 10. The teams last met on Jan. 16 last season, when the Stars won 3-2 and cashed as a +105 home underdog.

Detroit beat the Colorado Avalanche 5-4 in a shootout Tuesday night, while the Stars haven’t played since Saturday, when they beat the New York Islanders 5-4.
