Possible NHL Trade Deadline Deals

As the National Hockey League trading deadline approaches, rumors are spreading like wildfire. The NHL is known to make lots of trades during the season and here are just a few of the most talked about trade possibilities.

First of all, the Florida Panthers and the Carolina Hurricanes seem to be the two teams that are the most ready to invest more in their young players and get rid of the old ones.

Next on the list is that the Detroit Red Wings will likely make a trade in order to stay under the salary cap. They have released information that D Brett Lebda might be a good candidate for a move.

With the Carolina Hurricanes there was a significant trade made when F Ray Whitney was moved to the Los Angeles Kings. The move, however, fell through when the Kings couldn’t offer Whitney a new contract. The King’s also have rumors of them trading F Alex Frolov to the Montreal Canadiens for a more experienced forward.

In early February, the Columbus Blue Jackets decided they were out of the playoff race, which left rumors swirling about possible deals. The rumor was that F Raffi Torres and F Fred Modin would be likely players to be traded. This summer will be a time when they will both be unrestricted free agents.

Other reports include Vancouver Canuck F Cody Hodgson who is having problems with management. This usually means that a trade is imminent. These are just a few of the rumors, but they make for some interesting discussion as the season carries on.

With the deadline fast approaching you know that Stanley Cup betting will be hotting up.
