2010 Stanley Cup Betting Favorites

The 2009-2010 NHL season is a little over the half-way point and teams are positioning themselves for the Stanley Cup playoffs. The playoffs in hockey are a completely different animal. The hitting is hard, the games are close and the crowds are wild.

Home ice advantage is always a plus, so teams will be fighting for that down to the last week. Injuries must be taken into consideration as well, but that is usually reflected in the team’s record.

Pittsburgh and Chicago look like playoff teams right now and their Stanley Cup odds reflect that at 5-1.

Right behind Pittsburgh and Chicago you’ll find a group that includes San Jose, Washington and Detroit. The Red Wings may have been a little of a disappointment so far, but these three teams currently sit at 8-1.

The next three will be at 15-1 and that group includes Calgary, Boston, and New Jersey. New Jersey is a good road team, and that could pay off in the playoffs if you are into Sports Betting.

A few other teams you may want to look at to take a flyer on might be Buffalo, Ottawa, and Los Angeles. Any of these three could get hot and improve their standing. They all are currently 25-1.

Anaheim is awful on the road, but they have a winning record even though sit is last place in the Pacific Division. If they can fid a way to fix their road woes they are a steal at 50-1.
